The Fitter role is pivotal in overseeing the management of mechanical systems for various projects, focusing on both estimation and preconstruction phases.

This position entails a thorough understanding of project deliverables, formulating work plans, and pinpointing necessary resources while collaborating closely with senior management.


Key Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation of budgets, bids, and guaranteed maximum price (GMP) proposals for mechanical specialties.

Work alongside project teams to define comprehensive scopes of work and develop qualifications.

Engage in constructability assessments.

Conduct specific systems analyses and compile Value Engineering and alternatives documentation.

Formulate strategies for GMPs and competitive bidding processes.

Participate in project meetings and client presentations as needed.

Establish and nurture relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.

Actively engage in networking opportunities and industry organizations.

Essential Qualifications:

Who You Are:

A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in mechanical estimating or mechanical engineering design within the commercial construction sector.

Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction management practices, including safety, quality, and sustainability standards.

Proven ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.

Effective decision-making, research, and analytical problem-solving capabilities.

Excellent time management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and projects independently.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting effectively at all organizational levels.

Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience in construction.

Experience in pricing mechanical systems, including utilities.

Experience in presenting mechanical estimates to clients.

Familiarity with estimating for various building types.

Experience with quantity take-off software (On Screen Take-off or Sketch-up preferred).

Proficiency in PDF editing software (Bluebeam preferred).

Experience in residential/multi-family, office, education, healthcare, and technology sectors.

Familiarity with mechanical systems.

Work Environment:
Combination of field and office settings.

Travel Requirements:
Up to 100% travel may be necessary.
