Job Summary:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer will work under the supervision of the Assistant Athletics Director for Medical Services to provide medical support to the Track & Field and Cross Country teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of medical policies and procedures, providing first aid and emergency care, and maintaining accurate records of athlete injuries and illnesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Assistant Athletics Director for Medical Services in the development and implementation of medical policies and procedures.
- Provide first aid and emergency care to athletes during practices and competitions.
- Maintain accurate records of athlete injuries and illnesses, including treatment plans and progress notes.
- Collaborate with athletic trainers, coaches, and other medical staff to ensure a safe and healthy environment for athletes.
- Participate in training and education programs to stay current on best practices in athletic training.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field.
- Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) or eligibility for certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
