Job Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic Specialist

Company Overview:

We are a leading manufacturer in Deer Park, NY, specializing in commercial trucks and vans. We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic Specialist to join our team.


Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Description: Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical systems and equipment for commercial trucks and vans (Class 2 through Class 8 vehicles).
  • Perform maintenance and repair of van and truck systems and equipment.
  • Test lines, components, and connections using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic test equipment.
  • Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components following documented OEM procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, component replacement, and service equipment.
  • Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a mechanic.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of all necessary tools of trade required, including hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by management.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits:

This is a full-time position for permanent hire with potential for career growth. Must be familiar with engine work. Experience installing Thermo King or Carrier reefer units is a plus, but not required. Extensive training will be provided.
