Research Opportunity

Stanford University's Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our research laboratory. The successful candidate will contribute to our ongoing research in moyamoya disease, a rare condition affecting the brain's blood vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in moyamoya disease using genetic and biological approaches
  • Work with moyamoya patient samples and in vitro models, including induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
  • Collaborate with a team of researchers to achieve project goals

Requirements:

  • PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant field
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of cerebrovascular diseases, vascular biology, and/or immunology
  • Experience with iPSCs and in vitro cell culture
  • Desirable skills: differentiating endothelial and vascular smooth muscle cells, organoids, transcriptomic analysis, molecular biology, and flow cytometry
