Job Summary

Brockton Area Multi-Servi is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recovery Coach to join our team. As a Recovery Coach, you will play a vital role in providing support services to individuals receiving Respite Services, promoting growth, independence, and dignity for those served.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Peer Support: Utilize recovery principles in partnership with individuals and the Respite Team to improve health and wellness, achieve symptom stabilization, and develop skills impacted by mental illness.
  • Lead Skill-Building Groups: Facilitate groups to promote skill development, self-management, and self-directed living.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Team: Work with the program team to promote a team culture that recognizes and respects individual perspectives, experiences, and preferences.
  • Provide Education and Support: Assist individuals in understanding and combating mental health and addiction-related stigma and discrimination.
  • Advocate for Rights: Help individuals learn about their rights, grievance procedures, and provide support in resolving complaints.
  • Develop Recovery Tools: Assist individuals in developing and using individualized recovery tools and connecting to resources of their choice.
  • Provide On-Going Teaching and Modeling: Teach and model skills to staff and provide direct interventions and supports to individuals at different stages of change.
  • Coordinate with Care Coordination Entity: Ensure individuals have access to clinical, self-help, peer, and medication-assisted treatment in the community.
  • Communicate Professionally: Represent BAMSI in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
  • Execute Duties Safely: Utilize universal precautions and execute duties to reflect safety standards.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Certified Addiction Recovery Coach: A personal history of recovery and a sound understanding of and commitment to the consumer-led recovery movement.
  • Good Listening and Communication Skills: Knowledge of the mental health system, including comfort in dealing with traditional and non-traditional providers.
  • Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence and own means of transportation.
