Educational Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Educational Support Specialist to join our team at Foundation Academies, a K-12 free public charter school in New Jersey. As a member of our staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the academic success of our students.
Job OverviewThe successful candidate will assist teachers with lesson delivery, observe students, and provide one-on-one support to those who require additional assistance. We welcome individuals who are passionate about education and committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our students.
Responsibilities:- Assist Teachers: Reinforce concepts, clarify instructions, and support student-facing materials to ensure a seamless learning experience.
- Observe Students: Monitor student behavior during activities and intervene to maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Provide One-on-One Support: Offer individualized support to students requiring additional assistance, particularly those with IEPs or 504 plans.
- Implement IEPs: Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans, providing feedback on student progress and suggesting support strategies.
- Track Student Progress: Update and monitor student performance trackers, documenting behavior observations in accordance with school policies.
- Experience: 2+ years working in an urban or low-income setting preferred.
- Certification: Possess or be eligible for NJ Substitute Certification or have passed the ETS Para-Pro Assessment within 30 days of employment.
- Success Track Record: Demonstrate measurable success and achievement in previous roles.
