Tampa, Florida, United States Moffitt Cancer Center Full time

Position Overview: Medical Oncologist in Gynecologic Oncology

Moffitt Cancer Center is actively seeking a Medical Oncologist at the Assistant, Associate, or Senior level to enhance our Department of Gynecologic Oncology.

Our GYNONC program offers a comprehensive academic practice that encompasses research, education, and clinical services. As part of the only NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center in the state, we engage in translational research and all phases of clinical trials. This includes investigator-initiated studies, such as a pioneering CART study for recurrent ovarian cancer and a frontline DOD ovarian cancer treatment study aimed at evaluating immune environment biomarkers. Our research portfolio spans all GYNONC disease sites, incorporating cell therapies and innovative therapeutics. We are proud participants in the Gynecologic Oncology Group and provide extensive graduate medical education, including training for premedical and medical students, residents, gynecologic oncology and medical oncology fellows, and advanced practice professional students.

This role will involve participation in clinical or translational research alongside the provision of clinical services. The successful candidate will demonstrate innovative activities, including the discovery of new knowledge and the development of novel educational techniques. Protected time will be allocated for those who exhibit the capacity to conduct clinical or translational research.

The position will report directly to the Department Chair. Collaborative research among clinicians, as well as basic and population scientists, is integral to our culture. Responsibilities encompass all facets of patient care, including evaluation, management, and treatment. We adopt an interdisciplinary approach to optimize patient care delivery, which includes participation in tumor boards, molecular genetics conferences, and various educational activities.

Qualified candidates must possess a medical degree or its foreign equivalent, have completed a residency training program in Internal Medicine, and a fellowship training program in Hematology/Oncology. Candidates should be Board eligible or Board certified in Hematology/Oncology, hold a Florida medical license or have the ability to obtain one, and be qualified to secure hospital privileges.

The candidate will practice medicine, hematology, and medical oncology within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. This position entails providing patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group and contributing to the academic medical enterprise, which aims to advance the institutional mission of cancer prevention and cure. The role may encompass both clinical and research responsibilities, supporting patient care, research, and education. The successful candidate will oversee Advanced Practice Professionals and academic trainees.

This position includes academic ambulatory practice at Moffitt's main and local satellite facilities, as well as inpatient consulting services at Moffitt, with flexibility to consult at other locations within the Tampa Bay Area as needed.

Faculty members at Moffitt Cancer Center are eligible for academic appointments at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, with academic rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
