Job Summary

Middlebury College is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team in the Center for Health and Wellness. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, working collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support healthcare providers by rooming patients, collecting health information, and taking vital signs.
  • Maintain exam rooms by ordering required supplies and keeping them stocked for patient visits.
  • Administer required vaccines and medications as prescribed and directed.
  • Conduct and interpret point-of-care testing, including urinalysis, urine pregnancy test, and rapid strep test.
  • Collect specimens and instruct students in self-collection techniques.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technical procedures, including EKG, nebulizer treatments, and wound care.
  • Complete timely documentation in the EHR according to best practices and Health Services policies.
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and collaborating care staff.
Requirements
  • Commitment to multicultural approaches to clinical care.
  • Commitment to addressing intersections of multiple identities and their related health outcomes.
  • Successful collaborator with cross-discipline colleagues to support positive outcomes.
  • Interest in the social, psychological, and physical developmental stages of college students.
  • CPR certification.
  • 2 years of experience in acute care, long-term care, or clinical office setting.
  • Medical assistant certification or equivalent.
