At Northwest Indiana Community Action, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting health and wellness in our community.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse will be responsible for assisting with outreach and recruitment of program participants, promoting the WIC program, and providing participant-centered nutrition counseling and referral services. You will also be responsible for performing health measurements, assessing nutrition risk, and promoting breastfeeding to all WIC participants.
Responsibilities:- Assist with outreach and recruitment of program participants
- Promote the WIC program and provide education on nutrition and health
- Provide participant-centered nutrition counseling and referral services
- Perform health measurements and assess nutrition risk
- Promote breastfeeding to all WIC participants
- Qualified Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics) with an emphasis in Nutrition
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and program participants
