ROLE INTRODUCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a consultative sales position focused on initiating and managing direct sales efforts with targeted law firms and corporations. This role is pivotal in expanding our footprint in California by fostering relationships in key high-market areas. The BDM will be tasked with securing projects related to discovery, digital forensics, data analytics, cyber security, and other legal technology solutions. Candidates should possess a proactive mindset, high energy, and a strong drive for achieving results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and generate new client leads through targeted prospecting and marketing initiatives.
  • Engage in direct sales efforts to penetrate key accounts, establish new relationships, and enhance account revenues.
  • Collaborate with Managing Directors and Directors to expand and develop the Intelligent Discovery Sol portfolio.
  • Coordinate with the RevPro and Client Success teams to efficiently execute Letters of Engagement and Statements of Work.
  • Monitor project activities across multiple engagements, providing client feedback and resolving issues to maintain positive client relationships.
  • Assist Managing Directors and Directors in steering and managing business development initiatives, as well as marketing and training strategies.
  • Support other Managing Directors and Directors in fostering a collaborative environment and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Evaluate potential business opportunities by analyzing market strategies and deal requirements.
  • Work with the Solutions team to effectively scope projects while setting realistic client expectations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in bi-monthly, quarterly, and annual company meetings.
  • Report to the Sales Team during weekly sales meetings.
  • Submit and approve time and expenses according to company policy.
  • May be required to perform additional duties as necessary based on business needs.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 7 years of documented successful B2B solutions-oriented sales experience with a proven track record of developing new accounts and enhancing existing relationships; experience in e-Discovery or litigation support sales is advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Demonstrated success in establishing new relationships and expanding existing ones within the designated geographical area.
  • Familiarity with major e-Discovery tools and platforms is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience in a team selling environment is required.
  • Willingness to travel overnight 10%-20% of the time.
  • Ability to cover a large territory effectively.
  • Positive demeanor with the capability to develop, nurture, and sustain relationships.
  • Proactive work style with a strong commitment to follow-up and follow-through.
  • High energy level to maintain ongoing communication with current and prospective clients.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with a focus on client service delivery.
  • Strong understanding of the company's core practice areas to develop client pitches and proposals.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate client and prospect needs outside of standard business hours.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.

Compensation: Intelligent Discovery Sol offers a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary, commission, healthcare benefits, and a training budget. The base salary ranges from $120,000 to $150,000, commensurate with industry experience. Additionally, business developers receive a commission of 6-12% based on collected invoices.
