Job Overview

Purpose of the Role:

The Mechanical Systems Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the thorough inspection, upkeep, troubleshooting, repair, and refurbishment of mechanical systems utilized in production at IPEX Group of Companies.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety by maintaining a clean and secure work environment through training and adherence to policies.
  • Conduct checks on equipment and operational systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Uphold mechanical operations, standards, and controls at the highest quality levels.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to motors, pumps, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both team collaboration and independent work.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance in accordance with established standards.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment on a daily basis.
  • Manage both minor and complex heavy industrial equipment, including saws, pullers, and bellers.
  • Comply with company and customer regulations and policies.
  • Provide and maintain personal tools necessary for the job.
  • Be flexible to work all shifts as required by job demands.
  • Independently complete tasks safely and effectively.
  • Meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Proven knowledge and experience in maintenance practices.
  • A minimum of 5 years in maintenance roles is preferred.
  • 3 years of electrical experience is advantageous.

Key Relationships:

Regular communication with shift personnel, maintenance teams, and management is essential.

Working Conditions:

Safety is paramount. Employees are required to wear protective eyewear, appropriate gloves, hearing protection, respiratory protection, safety shoes, and other necessary equipment. The role involves exposure to moderate hazards, including moving machinery, repetitive motions, and noise. Regular work occurs in a non-controlled temperature environment with exposure to loud sounds and distractions. Employees may need to perform physically demanding tasks, including prolonged standing and various body movements, while maintaining visual attentiveness. The work environment may induce varying degrees of mental tension or anxiety.

Additional Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of electrical experience is preferred.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • Reliable transportation to work is necessary.
  • Capability to provide personal tools (basic standard toolset).
  • Willingness to work on-call schedules.
  • Availability for night shifts from 9 PM to 9 AM.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
