Community Engagement Coordinator

Higher Heights serves as the political foundation for the leadership of Black women. Our mission is to leverage the collective organizing strength of Black women, influencing everything from electoral participation to holding office. In this pivotal moment for democracy, we aim to enhance our impact by electing Black women and advancing progressive policies.
We are currently seeking a Political Organizer to implement strategic organizing initiatives utilizing digital tools to mobilize Black women and amplify their political influence. This role will also focus on outreach, partnership development, and engagement through various communication methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Higher Heights leadership to create and execute organizing strategies that engage staff, members, and volunteers in alignment with our mission.
- Facilitate both in-person and virtual activities that educate and mobilize communities and stakeholders.
- Organize training sessions for staff and volunteers on relational organizing and digital advocacy tools.
- Develop and implement a digital engagement strategy to enhance participation among members and partners.
- Provide coaching and technical support to maximize the effectiveness of organizing efforts.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support the organization’s overall objectives.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of organizing principles and a commitment to empowering individuals to lead and effect change.
- Experience in building relationships with community stakeholders and candidates to foster effective engagement.
- Proven ability to execute campaign strategies that mobilize communities and achieve electoral goals.
- Familiarity with various digital tools including CRMs, texting platforms, relational organizing software, and online advocacy tools.
- Proficient in data management using Excel and Google Sheets to support programmatic efforts.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills:
- Exceptional writing and communication abilities.
- Experience in developing and facilitating presentations and training sessions.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and thrive under pressure.
- Understanding of digital tools and their practical applications in organizing.
Travel for this position is anticipated to be around 20-30% of the time.
Compensation: The salary range for this non-exempt position is $65,000-$80,000, accompanied by a competitive benefits package. This is a full-time role with the flexibility to work remotely.
