Job Overview

Field Reimbursement Specialist, Focused on Hospital Settings.

This role involves traveling within a designated territory to engage with hospitals and healthcare providers.

Essential Requirement: Expertise in Prior Authorizations for Specialty Medications, Access and Reimbursement Strategies, and Patient Access to Therapeutic Solutions. Experience in the field is necessary.

Must reside within the territory and travel to various healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver timely education (both in-person and virtually) to healthcare office staff regarding reimbursement challenges and available support services for specialty medications and Buy & Bill drugs.

Educate the healthcare provider's team:

  • Conduct Benefit Investigations and Prior Authorization Processes for specialty medications.
  • Provide insights on Support Center Services (hub).
  • Explain Medicare and Commercial coverage options.
  • Guide on patient communication strategies.

Offer Reimbursement Support:

  • Manage Drug Therapy Cases.
  • Update on Billing and Coding practices.
  • Ensure appropriate claims submissions.
  • Coordinate with Specialty Pharmacies.
  • Interpret Medical Benefits.
  • Assess medical necessity.
  • Assist with Claims and Appeals.
  • Provide information on co-pay assistance programs.
  • Inform about patient assistance initiatives.

Accountable for territory management: Initiate outbound calls to schedule appointments with targeted offices.

  • Engage in both in-person and virtual meetings with healthcare office staff and pharmaceutical representatives to gather and disseminate patient and provider-specific information.
  • Assist in resolving backlog casework.
  • Monitor program performance for healthcare providers and pharmaceutical representatives in line with expectations.
  • Research and compile specific information for the reimbursement database.
  • Travel Days are typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (via car or flight). You will arrange your own appointments within your territory, with a focus on in-person visits. Mondays and Fridays are designated for home office work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position is ideal for a Field Reimbursement Specialist seeking stability.
  • Candidates with field or territory experience are preferred, as this is a critical aspect of the role.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience (experience as an FRM is valued).
  • 4-5 years of experience in specialty drug reimbursement and advocacy.
  • Experience in medical reimbursement with Buy & Bill and/or Specialty Pharmacy.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and claim adjudication in physician offices or clinics.
  • Experience with Medicare and commercial insurance coverage.
  • Ability to deliver and document benefit investigation outcomes and provide regular status updates.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Teams, PowerPoint, and virtual meeting platforms.
