We are seeking a highly skilled Child Support Technician II- Specialized Enforcement to join our team at the City and County of Denver. Job Summary

The Child Support Technician II- Specialized Enforcement will be responsible for completing the early intervention process, managing enforcement remedies, and utilizing critical thinking to determine the best course of action for each case. You will work closely with clients, Parole Officers, and other stakeholders to ensure that child support orders are enforced and families receive the support they need.

Responsibilities
  • Complete the early intervention process by interviewing obligors and obliges, researching and gathering relevant information, and documenting case files.
  • Effectively manage automated and manual enforcement remedies to ensure appropriate application and suppression based on unique case and individual situations.
  • Utilize various systems and processes to locate information regarding parties to support the enforcement of child support orders.
  • Meet with and communicate with clients regarding child support enforcement services, processes, and requirements.
  • Assess, plan, monitor, and evaluate cases to improve outcomes for assigned child support cases.
  • Communicate effectively with Parole Officers, Parolees, and Incarcerated individuals.
  • Help find resources and assist populations facing barriers.
  • Work in the field, visiting jails, correctional facilities, and resource fairs as needed.
  • Connect and work with Parole Officers when prisoners are released.
  • Prepare cases for legal proceedings by organizing case files and preparing legal documents.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with a passion for public service and improving the lives of families. The ideal candidate will have:

A passion for public service and improving the lives of families.Experience with managing multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced work environment.Knowledge of criminal justice systems and/or experience working with incarcerated individuals.Strong written communication skills.Ability to work with empathy and use a trauma-informed approach.Comfortable working from different locations, including jails and correctional facilities.Exhibits agility in an evolving work environment.Experience engaging customers from diverse backgrounds with a solution-oriented approach.Valid Driver's License.Education and Experience

The minimum qualifications for this position include:

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate.Four (4) years of experience performing child support initiation, enforcement, collections, investigations, case management, or a related field.
