Job Summary

Child & Family Resources is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing critical support services to high-risk families in the Colorado City area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments and screenings to identify high-risk families and develop personalized support plans.
  • Provide home-based prevention services, focusing on supporting parent-child relationships, attachment, and family enhancement.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and healthcare providers to ensure seamless coordination of services.
  • Develop and maintain client records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
  • Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, conferences, and workshops to stay updated on best practices and industry developments.
  • Make referrals to other community resources as needed, ensuring families receive comprehensive support.
  • Conduct home visits, assessing family needs and providing case management services to promote self-sufficiency.
  • Utilize child development curriculum and play-based interventions to support positive parent-child relationships.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with families, community partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, ensuring the highest level of service delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related behavioral health field.
  • Two years of experience in a related field, preferably working with at-risk children and families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trusting relationships.
  • Knowledge of family life skills, infant/child development, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to work limited nights and weekends.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to obtain a Level One fingerprint card and meet agency liability insurance requirements.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, and walk short distances.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and move through facilities and homes.
  • Position involves interaction with children, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to use office equipment and machines, with normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
