Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Work-Based Learning Coordinator to join our team at Serrato Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting a community relations program to create and maintain favorable public relations for the Center and its students, as well as overseeing the work-based learning program in accordance with DOL, PRH, corporate, and Center requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and market the work-based learning program.
  • Develop and implement policies for the WBL programs that meet DOL requirements.
  • Recruit, enroll, and monitor students in the WBL programs.
  • Plan and assist in the development of the work-based learning handbook, guide, or brochure.
  • Conduct orientation for students identified for the work-based learning program.
  • Conduct sessions with career technical education and academic instructors on trends in the workforce and training needs identified by the work-based learning site.
  • Train work-based learning supervisors on procedures.
  • Monitor work sites to ensure quality training is taking place.
  • Coordinate communication of work-based learning 'success stories' with local businesses.
  • Promote a home-based WBL program and help coordinate the program.
  • Work with the Center's Safety Officer to ensure all work-based learning sites are safe and in compliance with OSHA standards and site visits are conducted as required.
  • Ensure all work positions are documented with a site agreement and specific agreement and that necessary signatures have been acquired.
  • Ensure all documentation reflective of work-based learning assignments have been completed, including Training Achievement Records (TAR), periodic evaluations, and time sheets.
  • Ensure student WBL hours are updated in CIS.
  • Coordinate transportation of students to work sites.
  • Assist in the continued implementation of the Center's Career Success Standards program.
  • Work towards meeting performance standard goals.
  • Follow the CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and comply with safety practices.
  • Comply with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Serrato policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate and abide by Serrato Corporation's core values and operating principles.
  • Model, mentor, and monitor appropriate Career Success Standards.
  • Help students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
  • Participate in PRH-mandated staff training. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Two years' experience with job development and placement.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to effectively assist students in career choices.
  • High level of communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • High level of ability to motivate and inspire students effectively.
  • Knowledge of local career and technical education opportunities.
