About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mixing Operator I- 3rd Shift to join our production team at Thorne Research. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow production department procedures and perform specific duties based on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
  • Take a total quality approach to conduct, operate machines, and produce Thorne products.
  • Commit to the mixing credentialed training program to acquire proper operating knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Set up and operate mixing and related equipment for smooth operation and maximum output while maintaining quality and integrity of the product.
  • Notify lead/supervisor of any machine problems or anomalies outside of normal operations that affect output and the well-being of the equipment or the quality of the product.
  • Gain sufficient knowledge of weighing, sifting, milling, roller compaction, and blending equipment to make adjustments without supervision within guidelines outlined in SOPs and the mixing credentialed training program.
  • Awareness of cross-contamination issues while working with multiple raw materials and exhibit vigilance in taking proper precautions.
  • Properly weigh out ingredients as directed by the MMR, record all weights accurately and neatly on paperwork, and enter and calculate all dispensing weights using a calculator for accuracy.
  • Learn and maintain all technical procedures related to assembly, disassembly, and cleaning of equipment and maintaining the overall condition of machine parts and machine.
  • Collect required quantity of samples as directed by the control batch record and accurately perform slug tests and other tests as required.
  • Operate forklifts properly and maintain annual certification.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift approximately 30kg (66 pounds) from floor to shoulder height while maintaining full control of product on a regular basis.
  • Math ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measurement used in the production department.
  • Ability to work a 2nd shift schedule with some overtime required.
