Job Description

The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in upholding the YNHHS mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives. As a member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care that is guided by evidence-based practices. Your expertise will encompass assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care that meets or exceeds expected outcomes
  • Collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care
  • Evaluate own and others' nursing practice to promote quality improvement
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
  • Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
  • Current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
  • Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
Working Conditions

This role requires prolonged standing, walking, and use of sight, hearing, and touch. You may be exposed to infectious diseases and physically, mentally, and emotionally challenging situations. Moderate stress and risk of injury from patient care are also possible.

Additional Information

We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including a salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. All new hires participate in the Vizient Residency Program. Units included: Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Medicine and Cardiac, Pediatric Short Stay, Pediatric Neuro/Med Specialty, and Pediatric Hematology Oncology.
