About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations to join our team at Hermès in Miami. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational functions, including inventory control, housekeeping, maintenance, and selling service associates.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing shipping and receiving departments, assessing and resolving receiving issues, and ensuring the timely movement of merchandise. You will also be responsible for managing inventory control associates and other operational staff to ensure the efficient operation of all back-of-house space.

In addition, you will take part in all managerial responsibilities for the efficient running of the business, including overseeing and validating cash handling procedures, contributing to the retail management team, and assisting in the absence of the Managing Director and Floor Directors.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing shipping and receiving departments
  • Assessing and resolving receiving issues
  • Ensuring the timely movement of merchandise
  • Managing inventory control associates and other operational staff
  • Overseeing and validating cash handling procedures
  • Contributing to the retail management team
  • Assisting in the absence of the Managing Director and Floor Directors

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in retail management, preferably in a luxury environment. You should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of POS and phone systems, as well as experience with building maintenance.

The ideal candidate will be able to work well under pressure, multitask with accuracy, and have a collaborative management style. Familiarity with international parent companies is a plus.
