Primary Care Physician Opportunity

About the Role:

We are seeking a Primary Care Physician with preference for Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or similar specialty to join our team. As a Rural Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients while working both independently and collaboratively with other members of the correctional facility. In this role, you will utilize your diagnostic, assessment, and treatment skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine and diagnose patients, order appropriate diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications
  • Develop and manage treatment plans for patients, including preventive care and health maintenance
  • Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances
  • Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare professionals as needed
  • Communicate with other healthcare providers to coordinate quality patient care
  • Keep detailed medical records and document patient care activities

Benefits:

This opportunity offers a competitive salary range of $200k - $326k, plus a sign-on bonus and up to $10k student loan repayment. You will also have full support staff at your disposal.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a BC/BE in Family or Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine and a current Virginia State Medical license or be willing to obtain one.
