Job Title: Patient Access Representative, ER Department

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Patient Access Representative to join our Emergency Department team at Amberwell Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting professional patient interviews, obtaining demographic, financial, and biographical information, and verifying patient insurance eligibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Register patients at the check-in station within the departmentEnsure patient safety measures for patient identification are followedCollect and enter paperwork into the EMR systemComplete manual charges for the Emergency DepartmentPerform vital signs, report abnormal values to ER Nurses immediatelyIntake and output, blood glucose, bed turnover, Foley removal, IV removal, straight catheterization for urine sampleMaintain cleanliness of patient rooms and unit as a wholePut together transfer packets for all ER transfersPerform duties delegated by assigned nurse or DirectorCommunicate concerns, needs, and any other work-related issues utilizing the DirectorAssist with orientation of new employees and excel in conveying knowledge to others during the orientation processMay be required to train and float to other nursing departmentsPrioritize and maintain Amberwell Culture Competencies

Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task, critical thinking skills, and computer skills. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. Medical office experience and customer service experience are also preferred. Certified Nursing Assistant certification and BLS certification are required.
