Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Contribute significantly to the formulation of departmental strategic objectives and identify measurable indicators to support these goals.
- Oversee performance evaluations and provide leadership to all direct reports, including mentoring, coaching, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to product and process standards in line with customer expectations and IATF 16949 regulations.
- Act as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication through the Customer Liaison.
- Lead the design, execution, and assessment of quality engineering initiatives.
- Develop new designs, technical drawings, project plans, specifications, and related documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to manage the Product Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new projects, program transitions, engineering modifications, and process enhancements.
- Analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) data to drive process improvements and corrective measures.
- Maintain and report on company performance metrics, preparing visual summaries as required.
- Supervise associates engaged in product measurement and testing, compiling data related to materials, product quality, and reliability.
- Provide training and support to Quality Technicians and manufacturing staff.
- Support the development and maintenance of all quality systems in compliance with IATF 16949 standards.
- Generate quality alerts and communicate them effectively to the production team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in industrial design. S.Q.C. certification as a quality engineer is preferred; a Master's Degree is a plus.
- A minimum of six (6) years of experience in quality engineering or supplier development.
- Familiarity with standard quality methodologies, including FMEA, SPC, and DOE.
- Understanding of resistance and MIG welding techniques.
- Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Solid knowledge of PPAP processes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to mentor and instruct the team in effective problem-solving strategies.
- Acquainted with lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Computer literate with experience in customer-specific software and SPC tools.
