Fleet Maintenance Manager Job Description

US Foods is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of fleet maintenance, ensuring a safe and reliable fleet operations. The successful candidate will establish and maintain a department culture focused on people, safety, service, and cost.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of fleet maintenance, including vehicle safety practices and shop safety.
  • Lead the creation of a culture of safety, ensuring all US Foods associates, customers, and the general public remain injury-free.
  • Interview, hire, and train fleet technicians, schedule schooling and certification courses, and provide timely evaluations of employee performance.
  • Ensure all vehicles are in proper working condition, perform maintenance, and provide documentation and certifications.
  • Manage purchasing, warranties, capital improvement requests, and parts department inventory levels.
  • Work with drivers to enable them to operate specialized equipment properly and provide assistance as needed.
  • Comply with OSHA, DOT, and Tax commission regulations.
  • Produce weekly, period, and yearly reports, as well as daily OOS reports.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of fleet equipment experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to read and analyze business periodicals, and write reports.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong problem-solving and organization skills, excellent communication skills, and leadership abilities.
