Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medication Aide to join our team at The Sheridan at Eastside. As a key member of our Memory Care Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the self-administration of medications for Memory Care residents, adhering to Federal and State regulations, as well as Senior Lifestyle Corporation guidelines.
  • Count and verify narcotics with approved personnel, reporting any discrepancies to a supervisor.
  • Order medications and treatments from the pharmacy, notifying the responsible party when supplies are low.
  • Verify the accuracy of received medications, notifying the pharmacy and Director of Health & Wellness of any discrepancies.
  • Properly store medications, ensuring lotions, ointments, and liquids are separated from oral medications.
  • Conduct weekly inspections to remove expired medications, verifying MARs at changeover times and notifying the supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, and eating.
  • Document information in the daily log, notifying the supervisor of concerns.
  • Assist residents with needs, answer calls, and participate in staff training and in-services.
  • Maintain accurate records, preparing medical charts for new admissions and readmissions, and ensuring the medical record is complete within 48 hours.
