We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medication Aide to join our team at The Sheridan at Eastside. As a key member of our Memory Care Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our residents.
Responsibilities- Supervise the self-administration of medications for Memory Care residents, adhering to Federal and State regulations, as well as Senior Lifestyle Corporation guidelines.
- Count and verify narcotics with approved personnel, reporting any discrepancies to a supervisor.
- Order medications and treatments from the pharmacy, notifying the responsible party when supplies are low.
- Verify the accuracy of received medications, notifying the pharmacy and Director of Health & Wellness of any discrepancies.
- Properly store medications, ensuring lotions, ointments, and liquids are separated from oral medications.
- Conduct weekly inspections to remove expired medications, verifying MARs at changeover times and notifying the supervisor of any discrepancies.
- Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, and eating.
- Document information in the daily log, notifying the supervisor of concerns.
- Assist residents with needs, answer calls, and participate in staff training and in-services.
- Maintain accurate records, preparing medical charts for new admissions and readmissions, and ensuring the medical record is complete within 48 hours.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
