Position Summary

We are currently in search of a skilled Commercial Vehicle Operator to join our team in Denver, CO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate truck logs in compliance with state and federal regulations during interstate travel.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork is properly managed.
  • Communicate consistently with the Foreman to receive instructions for pickups and deliveries, while reporting any safety concerns.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of truck equipment and supplies, including tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water, to guarantee road safety.
  • Possess knowledge of and perform maintenance on single and multi-rear axle trucks, adhering to Colorado Commercial Driver's Licensing requirements.
  • Execute pre-trip inspections and accurately complete the driver's logbook, explaining the inspection process.
  • Safely maneuver and control the vehicle in various environments, including on-site and over-the-road situations, while adhering to proper signaling and hazard awareness.
  • Load and unload equipment and materials safely across diverse terrains, ensuring loads are secured properly.
  • Oversee routine fueling, lubrication, and basic servicing of the vehicle.
  • Understand the air brake system if the vehicle is equipped with it.
  • Assist with shop or yard tasks as directed by the shop foreman when not driving.
  • Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform all duties safely to prevent personal injury and equipment damage.
  • Be open to engaging in labor work when not operating a vehicle and assist ground crews with daily tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License for the State of Colorado.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer knowledge and strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, sales personnel, contractors, and shop staff.
  • Previous experience in commercial driving is preferred.
  • Must be DOT certified.
  • Successful completion of a drug test and background screening is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Good eyesight is necessary.
  • Able to drive for extended periods, up to 8-10 hours daily.
