Assistant Controller with Real Estate Experience
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our team in Boston, MA. This role offers a competitive salary range of $150k with a 25% bonus structure. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate or private equity industry.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee assigned property and/or debt investment accounting staff.
- Manage the monthly closing and consolidation process.
- Analyze budget to actual results and discuss with senior executives.
- Prepare and review quarterly financial statements and investor reports.
- Ensure compliance with Fund/Account partnership agreements and investor side letters.
- Manage investment management fee and incentive fee calculations.
- Prepare joint venture waterfall calculations.
- Manage preparation of capital accounts and returns calculations.
- Calculate distributions and manage debt covenant compliance.
- Oversee external audit process and manage third-party relationships.
- Develop and manage performance reporting accounting staff.
- Adhere to internal controls surrounding financial reporting and compliance.
- Perform other ad hoc accounting duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience (7 preferred) in real estate or private equity industry.
- Experience with financial statements preparation required.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration required, accounting concentration preferred.
- CPA license and public accounting experience preferred.
