POSITION OVERVIEW:
The School-Based Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering timely counseling services to students facing behavioral and mental health challenges. Responsibilities may also encompass family and group therapy sessions. Additional tasks include participating in meetings, maintaining accurate records, and offering consultation to educational staff as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to formulate accurate diagnoses.
  • Ensure timely completion of clinical documentation.
  • Develop and revise treatment plans in accordance with established policies.
  • Provide therapeutic services tailored to the assessed clinical needs and diagnoses.
  • Address supervisory communications, including urgent care situations, in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Keep administrative supervisors informed of any potential issues that may affect the program or organization.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client needs.
  • Exhibit sound clinical judgment in all aspects of client care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, mental health, or a related discipline is required. Candidates should ideally be eligible for licensure in their chosen field.
  • Preferred candidates will have relevant coursework and/or practical experience, including clinical internships, in areas such as treatment planning, assessment of mental disorders, psychopathology, and DSM usage for diagnosis.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Standing - 10%
  • Sitting - 90%
  • Occasional squatting, kneeling, bending, driving, and lifting.
