About the Role

The Hotel at Auburn University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sales and Event Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Sales and Catering department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Support: Assist Sales Managers and Catering Managers with client needs and requests, including attending pre-planning meetings and providing updates on event details.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between clients and internal departments, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Event Planning: Work with clients to plan and execute events, including conferences, meetings, and social gatherings.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Sales and Catering team, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Front Office, Reservations, and Banquets, to ensure a smooth and efficient event experience.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Language: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate knowledge of computers and basic office equipment, with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a positive and flexible attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: College education or training in hospitality, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a hotel or catering environment, with a focus on sales and event planning.
