Assistant Research Professor Position

The Auburn University GPS and Vehicle Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a highly qualified individual for a 12-month non-tenure track faculty assignment as an Assistant Research Professor. This position offers a unique opportunity to conduct research and execute tasks specified in active projects, including designing experiments, sensor fusion, signal processing, and advising graduate and undergraduate students.
The ideal candidate should bring expertise in areas of research that complement ongoing efforts in the lab, such as sensor fusion, signal processing, and autonomous vehicle dynamics and controls. A strong publication record, experience in digital signal processing, estimation theory, navigation, and knowledge of dynamics and controls are highly desirable.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Record of high-quality research publications in referred journals and conference proceedings
- Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
