JOB INFORMATION

Join a dedicated team committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children. The Child Advocacy Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled professional to provide essential support and advocacy for children affected by maltreatment.

POSITION DETAILS:
This is a full-time, exempt position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The role involves a comprehensive benefits package.

The successful candidate will deliver advocacy, educational resources, and support services to a diverse group of child victims and their families. Responsibilities include conducting crisis assessments, safety planning, and coordinating services throughout the investigative and treatment processes. Collaboration with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) is crucial to ensure effective service delivery. Supervision will be provided by the Child Advocacy Center Services Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support children who are victims of maltreatment and their caregivers
  • Conduct crisis assessments and safety planning
  • Perform client intake and needs assessments
  • Document all interactions and services provided
  • Connect families with community resources
  • Engage in case management activities to facilitate collaboration
  • Educate clients about their rights and the legal process
  • Maintain up-to-date victim resource information
  • Participate in case reviews and team meetings
  • Assist in community outreach and training initiatives
  • Perform administrative duties related to the Advocacy Program
  • Travel as needed for client support
  • Participate in emergency planning and training
  • Complete other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human services
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
  • Understanding of child advocacy principles and practices
  • Familiarity with victim's rights laws and investigative processes
  • Ability to provide crisis intervention and risk assessments
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards

PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN FOR:
  • Proficiency in Spanish
  • Experience in trauma-informed care
  • Background in advocacy work
  • Knowledge of local community resources
  • Experience in case management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally walk
  • Work primarily indoors

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Transportation may be required for off-site meetings
  • Availability for evening and weekend work as needed
  • Subject to random drug testing
  • On-call availability for emergencies
