OakLeaf Clinics is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Coding Manager to lead our coding department within our expanding business office.

Our multidisciplinary healthcare team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dietitians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and medical assistants, all collaborating to provide exceptional care to the Chippewa Valley.

Role Overview:
As the Medical Coding Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the coding department while actively engaging in coding production. You will guide your team in executing high-volume, precise medical coding functions in a dynamic multi-specialty practice environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the business office director and leadership to establish and enforce policies and procedures that guarantee timely and accurate billing.
- Manage the collection processes from third-party payers and patients, ensuring all daily operational activities run smoothly.
- Oversee the business office's systems, policies, procedures, and personnel to uphold the highest standards of patient-centered care.
- Analyze and communicate essential revenue cycle and productivity data to assess current performance and identify areas for improvement.

- Generate and review reports on financial and operational performance on a daily, monthly, and annual basis.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of department processes to meet milestones and adhere to budgets.
- Set fee schedules and monitor payer agreements to ensure compliance with contracted reimbursement rates.
- Support and analyze third-party contract negotiations.
- Monitor cash flow applied to accounts receivable to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions for timely payment collection.
- Conduct data extraction from relevant systems.
- Supervise staff productivity and communicate best practice performance standards.
- Participate in various committees to provide insights from a business office perspective.

Qualifications:
- AHIMA or AAPC coding certification is required.
- Expertise in CPT and ICD10 coding is essential.
- A bachelor's degree in healthcare administration is preferred, or an associate degree in health information technology or medical office specialist.
- Minimum of three years of experience in physician practice revenue cycle management and leadership roles is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily office-based, requiring the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. The role involves light physical activities and the use of a computer and telephone.
