Job Description

As an LPN Resident Care Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering quality assisted living services through interpersonal contact and providing services focused on maximizing residents' individual capabilities. This will involve overseeing the medication program, performing treatments according to physician orders, and assisting residents with activities of daily living. You will also be responsible for charting relevant information about residents, updating and informing physicians of changes in residents' conditions, and taking physician orders and transcribing new orders to medication sheets and charts appropriately.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  1. Oversees medication program, ensuring accuracy of medication assistance records (MARs), provides hands-on medication assistance to residents, and monitors med passes.
  2. Performs treatments according to physician orders, ensuring timely and accurate administration of medications and treatments.
  3. Takes vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and blood sugar, and records them accurately.
  4. Charts relevant information about residents, including medication administration, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  5. Updates and informs physicians of changes in residents' conditions, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  6. Takes physician orders, transcribes new orders to medication sheets and charts, and ensures accurate and timely implementation.
  7. Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  8. Orders and reorders medications for residents from assigned pharmacies as needed, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  9. Responds promptly to call lights and other requests from residents, providing timely and effective assistance.
  10. Provides report to staff for next shift, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  11. Assists Resident Care Director with supervisory responsibilities, including training, supervision, and counseling of resident care team.
  12. Assists with scheduling department hours appropriately, ensuring timely and accurate scheduling.
  13. Serves as an effective role model, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering exceptional care and services.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Must have Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from accredited program.
  2. Must maintain an active LPN license in good standing throughout employment.
  3. One (1) year experience in senior services preferred.
  4. Must have CPR certification upon hire, or obtain during orientation, certification must remain current during employment.
  5. Must have current First Aid certification (if required by State).
