Position Overview
We are seeking a Production Manager to oversee daily operations at our facility. The Production Manager will lead efforts to meet production targets while fostering a productive work environment. This role is crucial in driving lean initiatives to enhance profitability, ensuring exceptional customer service, cultivating a skilled workforce, and minimizing operational costs through ongoing improvements. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is key to our success.
Facility Background
Established in 1979, our Peachtree facility specializes in Architectural Metal Roofing and Slit Coil, consistently ranking as a top performer within the company.
Work Schedule
Standard hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support lean initiatives within assigned teams, contributing to the overall lean strategy across the plant.
- Set team objectives and monitor key performance indicators to ensure ongoing enhancement.
- Manage all aspects of team leadership, including development, hiring decisions, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure all team members receive training in lean methodologies, standard operating procedures, and tools for continuous improvement.
- Facilitate cross-training among team members to optimize workforce flexibility across various job functions.
- Empower team members positively to drive collective success.
- Oversee the execution of preventive maintenance and safety programs for assigned teams.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication abilities.
- Proven problem analysis and resolution skills, with the capacity to mentor team members in these areas.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and execute effectively.
- Experience in refining manufacturing processes to achieve continuous improvements in quality, delivery, and cost.
- A minimum of 5 years in an industrial/manufacturing setting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role preferred.
- Experience in lean management practices.
