This role is essential for overseeing the accurate procurement and planning of traded goods, raw materials, and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies, ensuring timely communication with suppliers.

It is crucial to align all shipment timelines with operational schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a thorough understanding of export and import customs regulations.
  • Ensure timely transport bookings and special freight align with company processes.
  • Collaborate closely with quality assurance teams to address supplier quality concerns.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with internal facilities to ensure demand signals are effectively relayed and expedite requests are addressed.
  • Handle direct, indirect, and MRO purchasing, including raw materials and various supplies.
  • Work in conjunction with customer service, finance, quality, operations, and warehousing to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Continuously seek improvements in processes, delivery timelines, and cost efficiencies in collaboration with other departments.
  • Take ownership of traded stock, ensuring target stock levels as a percentage of future sales are met.
  • Develop and assess production plans and inventory targets.
  • Report on inventory metrics, including days on hand, stock shortages, variances, and safety stock levels.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers effectively.
  • Conduct accurate pricing and negotiations.
  • Develop capacity plans and evaluate utilization, providing recommendations as necessary.
  • Support and analyze customer releases to establish an effective trade schedule in partnership with customer service.
  • Drive continuous improvement in utilization, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and production efficiency.
  • Assist team members during peak periods and absences.
  • Engage in interdepartmental meetings to support organizational growth.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and compliance with safety standards.

Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF 16949 and ISO-45001 procedures and work instructions.

Candidate Profile:

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial materials management preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools, ERP software, and Microsoft Office is advantageous.
  • Experience in an international or global business environment.
  • Proven ability to manage, lead, and motivate teams, including remote personnel.
