Job Title: Construction Site Supervisor

Join Habitat for Humanity Canada as a Construction Site Supervisor and play a vital role in building affordable housing for families in need. As a key member of our construction team, you will oversee the construction of homes, ensuring that they are built to specification, on schedule, and with the highest level of quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the construction of homes, providing hands-on training and direction to staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure that homes are built to specification, on schedule, and with the highest level of quality.
  • Coordinate and lead small and large groups of volunteers and staff to complete daily tasks.
  • Teach and guide volunteers and staff on the jobsite, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Manage volunteer paperwork and training, including waivers and safety talks.
  • Ensure that necessary tools, materials, and equipment are available and in good working order.
  • Identify and document issues and opportunities for enhancement, communicating them to construction management.
Requirements:
  • Broad knowledge of all aspects of home construction, with an emphasis on foundations, framing, and interior finishing.
  • Ability to clearly communicate directions and provide feedback to a wide variety of individuals, personalities, and skillsets.
  • Ability to patiently teach and lead small and large groups of volunteers to complete daily tasks.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety protocols, including OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to maneuver over uneven ground, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and stand for most or all of any given day.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record and ability to drive large trucks.
  • CPR/First aid certification and valid and current Habitat Competent Person Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years' work experience in the residential construction field, with six years preferred.
  • Experience working for Habitat for Humanity as construction staff or construction AmeriCorps preferred.
