Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all production and receiving areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. This includes the thorough cleaning and sanitization of processing equipment and adherence to established quality and sanitation protocols. The role is essential in maintaining equipment functionality and compliance with food safety standards to deliver safe and high-quality products to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Remove lint, dust, oil, and grease from all production machinery, disassembling parts as necessary and reassembling them for all production lines. This includes cleaning overhead pipes and conveyors.
  • Thoroughly clean all processing tanks and vats, including changing or cleaning filters as required.
  • Support the maintenance of daily operational efficiency and sanitation tasks. Assist in the upkeep of all sanitation-related equipment.
  • Utilize sanitation chemicals to clean floors as needed, and transport waste materials to designated disposal areas.
  • Participate actively in the training of new employees and transfers.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety protocols, company policies, quality standards, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) relevant to this position.
  • Operate forklifts or hand lifts to move materials as required.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all food safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including the current SQF code, GMP, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) along with associated Preventive Controls.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in sanitation within a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong reading and mathematical skills to fulfill job requirements accurately.
  • Mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination are essential.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Completion of training and a solid understanding of sanitation responsibilities across all production lines.

Physical Requirements:
This position regularly requires a combination of sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Work Environment:
Work schedules may extend beyond regular business hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. The role may involve outdoor work and exposure to extreme temperatures, including heat, cold, and humidity. Employees may encounter fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibrations. Compliance with personal protective equipment requirements is mandatory as per established safety standards. Work may also occur in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 18 feet for extended periods.
