Job Summary:
The Assistant Group Leader supports and assists staff in carrying out all planned enrichment and recreational activities for the after-school program at Brooklyn Scholars Charter School. This role is responsible for assisting with lessons and activities, working with after-school program staff, monitoring and supervising youth participants, and managing relevant materials and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with all lessons and activities, including sports and recreation, educational support, and arts and crafts.
- Work with after-school program staff in carrying out special activities for the program.
- Monitor and supervise youth participants, reinforcing the rules of the program.
- Manage relevant materials and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, enthusiasm, and active observation, and ability to work with other youths.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment are necessary.
- Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
