Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Dallas, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing electrical engineering projects, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare feasibility studies, including cost estimates for CapEx planning, and propose overall project plans.
  • Assess and obtain necessary resources, including electrical technical expertise, to support project execution.
  • Prepare electrical specifications and scopes of work for use in the bidding process for engineering, equipment, and construction services.
  • Lead the electrical technical part in bid evaluations and contract negotiations.
  • Monitor vendor performance after contract award and ensure compliance with project schedules and site inspections.
  • Organize electrical and automation start-up teams, assign roles and responsibilities, and train operational personnel.
  • Manage drawings and documents handling and archiving during project execution.
  • Safely perform work considering Company safety standards and regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or electrical technology.
  • Minimum 7 years professional experience in electrical engineering and project management, preferably in the cement or other heavy industry.
  • Very broad knowledge and understanding of the equipment used for the cement manufacturing process, including power, instrumentation, and control equipment and PLC/HMI architecture and programming.
  • Mastery of the principles and practices of the National Electrical Code and MSHA regulations.
  • Authoritative understanding of project management and engineering concepts and practices gained through broad and deep experience.
  • Solid computer skills and familiarity with software packages such as SKM, ETAP, and EasyPower.
  • Ability to develop detailed project schedules with appropriate logic and maintain and update the schedule based on verified progress.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 scheduling software is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

The role operates primarily in an office setting but will also operate in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions as dictated by project requirements.

Must be willing to travel extensively and occasionally climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and enter confined spaces.
