Verification Engineer for Wireless Communication Systems

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Verification Engineer to join our Wireless Silicon Development team at Apple, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing verification plans for our wireless communication systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with System/Design Teams: Work closely with system and design teams to review and understand PHY subsystem microarchitecture, create verification plans from specifications, and ensure that our wireless communication systems meet the required standards.
  2. Develop and Execute Verification Plans: Build block/subsystem level test benches with reference models, using best-in-class DV methodology, and architect test benches with maximum reusability in mind.
  3. Debug and Troubleshoot: Develop and execute both directed and constrained random tests, debug failures, manage bug tracking, and work with designers to drive closure of issues found.
  4. Improve Verification Coverage: Create and analyze block/subsystem level coverage models, and add test cases to increase coverage.
  5. Support Validation: Support PHY subsystem validation using Palladium and FPGA.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Verification Experience: Verification experience of wireless/wired communication block/subsystem.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent knowledge and experience of ASIC verification flows, including test bench development, constrained random testing, and code/functional coverage. Advanced knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog, UVM, and SystemVerilog Assertion.
  • Additional Skills: Experience of using Matlab/C reference model and bit-accurate verification a plus. Knowledge of wireless protocols such as Bluetooth, WLAN, or Zigbee a plus. Proficiency in shell and Perl scripting, Python skills a plus. Experience of Palladium/FPGA validation a plus.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, well-organized, and excellent communication skills.
