Be part of Apple's expanding wireless silicon engineering division. Our wireless SoC team is tasked with overseeing all facets of wireless silicon innovation.

Focusing on energy-efficient designs and pioneering technologies that enhance user experiences at the product level, our work is supported by a top-tier vertically integrated engineering group that encompasses RF/Analog architecture, design, Systems/PHY/MAC architecture and design, VLSI/RTL design and integration, Emulation, Design Verification, Testing and Validation, as well as Firmware/Software engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop microarchitecture and RTL for System-on-Chip (SoC) IP designs, ensuring alignment with defined functional specifications.

  • Participate in hardware/software partitioning discussions with software and firmware engineering teams.
  • Work closely with physical design, design for testability (DFT), power management, and computer-aided design (CAD) teams to finalize and deliver fully operational IP for SoC integration.
  • Provide assistance to verification, prototyping, and emulation teams during pre-silicon verification phases, along with software/firmware development.
  • Support post-silicon validation, system integration, and debugging efforts, promptly addressing any required silicon design modifications.
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong foundation in digital design principles.
- Expertise in defining ASIC microarchitecture to fulfill functional requirements while balancing performance, power, and area considerations.

Familiarity with the ASIC design workflow, including System Verilog RTL implementation, Lint, Synthesis, STA, and LEC. Knowledge in areas such as memory subsystems, bus interfaces, CPU integration, DMA engines, Compression, Security IP design, and high-speed/low-speed peripherals like PCIE, QSPI, UART, and SPMI is advantageous.

Thorough understanding of cross clock-domain design principles and associated CDC requirements.

Awareness of ASIC low power design strategies, including multiple supply domain configurations, dynamic power/clock scaling, and power analysis, is a plus.

Knowledge of ASIC testing methodologies, including DFT, scan insertion, memory BIST, and other related techniques.
Exceptional organizational abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
BS degree with 10+ years of relevant industry experience; MS preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base salary is just one component of our total compensation package, which is determined within a range.

This structure allows for growth as you develop within your role.

The base salary range for this position is between $166,600 and $296,300, with your specific salary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees may also be eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
