In this capacity, you will play a crucial role within the systems engineering team, focusing on modem systems features and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Design and simulate cutting-edge physical layer wireless communication algorithms.
Collaborate with systems designers, digital engineers, and firmware developers to enhance validation and verification strategies, ensuring the high quality of wireless SOC products.
Define verification criteria for various physical layer components and develop methodologies for verification coverage analysis.
Engage with system designers to establish trade-offs that facilitate efficient verification.
Support firmware and software developers throughout the verification process.
Essential Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of wireless communication systems, coupled with practical experience in laboratory testing and characterization.
Profound understanding of communication system theory and signal processing is vital for this role, enabling the design of algorithms such as timing recovery, filter design, signal estimation and detection, automatic gain control, RF impairments estimation and correction, channel estimation, equalization, forward-error correction, OFDM, MIMO detection, etc.
Proficiency in Matlab, C/C++, and/or Python for algorithm development, modeling (both floating-point and fixed-point), and link-level simulation.
Experience in chip bring-up, including the use of laboratory equipment such as protocol test equipment, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
Familiarity with Cellular Communication Standards:5GNR, 4G LTE, 3G (HSPA), 2G GSM.
Analytical Skills:Strong analytical capabilities in linear algebra, random processes, detection, and estimation.
Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Compensation & Benefits:At Apple, base salary is just one aspect of our comprehensive compensation package, determined within a specific range.
This structure allows for growth and advancement as you develop within your role. The base salary range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs, including eligibility for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and the option to purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
