Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join our team at Novolex. This key role will play a critical part in driving HR solutions and identifying customer needs.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in HR, with experience in a manufacturing environment. They will be responsible for managing the plant HR department, including employee and management needs, and will partner effectively with employees, managers, and corporate contacts to handle general HR demands.

The ideal candidate will have excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to listen well, comprehend, and analyze situations. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to develop effective working relationships within all areas of the company.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the plant HR department, including employee and management needs
  • Partnering with employees, managers, and corporate contacts to handle general HR demands
  • Strategically managing employee development and improvement plans
  • Handling recruitment, advertising, interviews, selection, background screens, and pre-employment physicals
  • Handling orientation and paperwork processing for new employees
  • Acting as company spokesperson at community events and job fairs as needed
  • Conducting disciplinary investigations and reporting back to HR Leadership
  • Creating, improving, and administering human resource policies and procedures
  • Performing exit interviews to help improve employee relations

Requirements include:

  • 5-10+ years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or a combination of relevant experience and education
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Ability to listen well, comprehend, and analyze situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships within all areas of the company
