Job Title: Plant Human Resources Manager

Job Summary:

Lactalis Heritage Dairy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Human Resources Manager to join our team in Walton, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business strategy and achieving breakthrough results by partnering with the local plant management team and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies to support business objectives and improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and retention of all plant employees, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Manage site payroll administration, LOA process, and ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Partner with plant management to understand business issues and opportunities, and assist in developing HR initiatives to address those needs.
  • Improve organizational effectiveness by optimizing resource utilization, employee morale, and engagement.
  • Implement tools and processes to improve the organization's overall effectiveness, change management initiatives, performance management processes, and succession planning.
  • Manage and enhance a productive work environment by resolving conflicts between management and associates, coaching management on effective management and coaching techniques, and maintaining open communication with employees and managers.
  • Advise and counsel managers on various topics to optimize employee engagement, team development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints, provide direction to plant management, and develop problem resolution solutions.
  • Support activities related to negotiating, maintaining, and ensuring adherence to the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Administration, Business, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of HR generalist experience, with 3+ years in a manufacturing environment and 3+ years of experience leading direct reporting team members.
  • Experience working with labor unions is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of HR practices in recruitment, organization development, policy administration, training, and employee relations.
  • Hands-on, self-starter, capable of juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all functions and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with company values.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, investigation skills, HR technical knowledge in EEO, FMLA, ADA, unemployment, and worker's compensation.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong influence and facilitation skills.
  • Experience managing organizational change.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000
