Job Title: IRS Financial Management Specialist

Significance, a woman-owned consulting firm, is seeking a highly skilled IRS Financial Management Specialist to support our IRS Professional Financial Management and Audit program. This position requires a strong background in federal accounting principles, techniques, and practices, as well as experience with SAP Federal Financial Management and Procurement software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recommend changes to current accounting processes used for financial statement and TIER preparation
  • Assist with implementing approved changes to current accounting processes
  • Prepare and/or review audit deliverables and present walkthroughs to IRS personnel
  • Prepare and/or review the IRS annual financial statements and accompanying notes
  • Research TIER fatal errors and prepare and post journal vouchers to clear the errors
  • Maintain the automated SAP business warehouse system
  • Recommended updates to IFS reports as necessary
  • Assist with clearing out canceling funds and preparing and posting journal vouchers to clear canceling fund balance
  • Litigation reports at year-end for the GAO deliverable
  • Contract reports to assist with the Public-Private Partnerships Data Call for the GAO deliverables
Requirements:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Public Trust clearance
  • 10+ years of professional experience, with at least eight years working with federal generally accepted accounting principles, techniques, and practice
  • Proven expertise in SAP Federal Financial Management and Procurement software
  • Knowledge of the current IRS accounting systems and environment and tax processing
  • Must be currently located in Washington DC metro area and willing to support onsite work at customer site
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading/managing a team and project workstream
  • Experience with S/4HANA
