Job Title: Orthodontic Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our team at Black Orthodontics. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our orthodontists in delivering top-notch treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist orthodontists in placing and removing orthodontic appliances
  • Take X-Rays/Scans and create molds and impressions of patients' teeth for the fabrication of retainers
  • Photograph patients to document progress
  • Maintain accurate records of patients' oral health histories and treatment progress
  • Ensure all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use
  • Treat patients with respect and provide an exceptional experience
  • Assist orthodontists by preparing for procedures, laying out instruments, and keeping patient's mouths dry with suction tool
  • Communicate any problem areas regarding patient progress to Orthodontist
  • Educate patients (and parents) on proper oral hygiene practices and braces aftercare
  • Learns and becomes proficient in EMR usage
  • Works with team and patients to coordinate scheduling
  • Cross trains in front office duties and fills-in as necessary
  • Makes adjustments to patient braces, brackets and bands as directed by Orthodontist
  • Accompanies patient from waiting area to chair while engaging in conversation
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Computer experience
  • Flexible Schedule
Preferred Requirements:
  • RDA and or CA Certification
  • Associate's Degree in related field
  • CPR Certification
  • 1-2 years recent experience in dental environment
