Role Overview:
The Community-Based Recovery Support Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the objectives of UnitedHealth Group and its Health Plan. This position is focused on assisting individuals and families by fostering engagement, building relationships, and facilitating access to necessary resources.

Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize personal recovery experiences to guide individuals and families in setting and achieving their recovery objectives.
- Engage with consumers experiencing co-occurring disorders, such as mental health and substance use challenges.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for peers, families, and healthcare providers.
- Establish collaborative partnerships with consumer and family organizations to encourage active participation in health plan initiatives.
- Communicate essential information regarding health plans and clinical policies to consumers and their families.
- Identify and connect with community leaders to create culturally competent recovery programs.
- Participate in internal committees and quality review processes to enhance service delivery.

Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with Care Managers and clinical teams to coordinate care and support services.
- Assist consumers transitioning from intensive care settings and provide necessary follow-up support.
- Advocate for consumers and families, ensuring their voices are heard in treatment planning and service delivery.

Qualifications:
- Active Peer Recovery Specialist or Peer Support Specialist certification in Kentucky or the ability to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
- A minimum of four years of experience in case management and familiarity with community resources.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and capable of managing multiple web platforms.
- Must reside within a commutable distance to the designated service area and possess a valid driver's license.
