Job Summary:

The University of Kentucky is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recovery Support Specialist to join our team at the adult psychiatric residential recovery center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals learn and demonstrate independent living skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in observation and documentation of patient well-being and the delivery of appropriate services.
  • Provide direct patient care by planning, organizing, and implementing recovery and rehabilitation activities to promote optimal mental health.
  • Assist in screening and basic assessment of mental health disorders, substance use disorders, suicide risk, and stress management.
  • Implement departmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations in ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Service or Psychology field.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, basic computer navigation skills, and a working knowledge of the Internet.
  • Ability to work in a team, take direction, and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and their family members independently.
