School Adjustment Counselor
As a School Adjustment Counselor (SAC) at Helix Human Services Inc, the ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in working with children exhibiting diverse needs and capabilities. The SAC plays a pivotal role within the school's leadership framework, providing essential support to our students.
This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Conducting individual counseling sessions, either pre-scheduled or as needed.
- Planning and leading small group social skills workshops tailored to each classroom.
- Performing crisis evaluations and management.
- Referring families to external service providers when necessary.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of social, emotional, and behavioral IEP goals.
The successful candidate will demonstrate reliability, collaboration, and adaptability to changing schedules, embodying the spirit of teamwork. A Master’s degree is required, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Candidates should ideally hold a DESE or equivalent therapeutic license or be eligible for licensure.

Qualifications:
- Master's degree with a minimum of three years relevant experience.
- Possession of reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with DCF and other agencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to engage with a diverse demographic.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
