The Ekeo Group is seeking a Java Architect for a contractual engagement.

Position Overview:

We are in search of a seasoned Software Architect for a long-term contractual role. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Java development and architecture, particularly in the design, operation, and maintenance of Java-based applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide solutions for all development and support activities conducted by the team.
  • Facilitate integrations with standardized frameworks, tools, and other necessary technologies.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to configure solutions as required.
  • Engage with vendors to support the Java-based applications.
  • Research and prototype innovative solutions to address business requirements.
  • Document technical specifications comprehensively.
  • Consult with business analysts and users to gather and clarify requirements.
  • Work alongside project teams to define system requirements and assist in requirements analysis.
  • Guide the team in interface design and user interface integration.
  • Deliver final application architecture and design.
  • Code, test, and deploy solutions adhering to best practices and established standards.
  • Develop and implement system test plans to meet acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex application and system issues.
  • Conduct thorough testing of functionalities, including integration with other systems and applications.
  • Generate and update application reports as needed.
  • Participate in design sessions, review deliverables, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Offer guidance to development teams unfamiliar with new technologies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in developing and maintaining Java web applications.
  • At least five years of experience in analyzing project requirements and designing Java web applications accordingly.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in developing Java web applications using the Apache Wicket framework.
  • Familiarity with implementing risk assessment solutions in Java applications.
  • Experience in providing web services development within Java applications.
  • Proficiency in using Hibernate ORM in Java applications.
  • Experience in developing Java applications that interface with IBM DB2 databases.
