Position Overview:

We are in search of a seasoned Software Architect for a long-term contractual position. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Java development and architecture, particularly in the development, operation, and maintenance of Java-based applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide, mentor, and offer solutions for all development and support activities conducted by the team.
  • Execute integrations with standardized frameworks, tools, and ancillary technologies as required.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to configure necessary solutions.
  • Engage with vendors to provide support for Java-based applications.
  • Research and prototype innovative solutions to fulfill business requirements.
  • Document technical specifications comprehensively.
  • Consult with business analysts and users to ascertain requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to define system requirements and assist in requirements analysis.
  • Advise on interface design and integration of user interfaces.
  • Deliver final application architecture and design.
  • Develop, test, and deploy solutions, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
  • Create and implement system test plans to meet acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex application and system issues.
  • Conduct thorough testing of functionalities, including integration with other systems and applications.
  • Generate and update application reports as needed.
  • Participate in design sessions, review deliverables, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support development teams in adopting new technologies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in developing and maintaining Java web applications.
  • At least five years' experience in analyzing project requirements and designing Java web applications accordingly.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in developing Java web applications using the Apache Wicket framework.
  • Familiarity with implementing LexisNexis Risk Solutions products in Java applications.
  • Proficiency in providing web services development within Java applications.
  • Experience with Hibernate ORM in Java applications.
  • Background in developing Java applications that interface with IBM DB2 databases.
